Valley Star Glows Brightly

by Valerie Summers

Although the Valley Performing Arts Center opened three years ago, my first visit occurred recently when I headed over to the San Fernando Valley for a performance featuring the great jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis.   Situated on the southeast corner of  the California State University, Northridge campus, the stunning  glass walled landmark complex offers a first class cultural venue in a first class setting.

HGA Architects & Engineers design would make any city proud.  The stunning 166,000 square foot performing arts center houses an  impressive 1,700 seat multipurpose concert hall which supports orchestra, opera, Broadway, film and dance performances offering a multitude of configurations. The auditorium includes comfortable seating, good sight lines and excellent acoustics.  This LEED  Gold certified complex provides ample restroom facilities and food and drink services and there is plenty of parking.

Valley Performing Arts Center presents a variety of top name talent making it  a diverse,  convenient and appealing cultural/entertainment destination.
