In all my years of attending theatrical productions, last night, at the opening of Something Rotten! at the Ahmanson Theatre, I witnessed a first…a standing ovation in the midst of the performance.  Multi-award winning brothers Karey Kirkpatrick and Wayne Kirkpatrick along with best-selling author John O’Farrell created this explosive, hysterically funny, colorful, irreverent musical about two brothers living in the shadow of William Shakespeare and determined to get out from under.

Searching for answers to their dilemma, a soothsayer is consulted who foretells the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time.  The brothers set out to write the world’s very first musical with the most singing, the most dancing and the most laughs on Broadway or at the Los Angeles Music Center.  And a salute to the brilliant costume designer who enhanced the visuals of this must see musical!

Nominate for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, three principal cost members along with a vibrant, talented case, dept the audience laughing throughout the performance with the dynamic dancing, singing and acting.

Playing through December 31
