Emirates — A Heavenly Experience

When I overheard someone in the beautiful Los Angeles international Emirates airport lounge say that one of the best parts of their previous trip to Dubai was the flight, I found it hard to believe. However, from the moment I boarded the Emirates A380 airbus, my experience did turn out to be a vacation in the sky. Flying Business Class in a window-side suite fronted by a 25” flat screen television providing a selection of 2,000, yes that’s right, entertainment choices including movies, music, games, podcasts and Wi-Fi service, I was completely relaxed in this private little world. My own mini-bar, luxury headset and best of all plenty of leg room with an adjustable seat which folded down into a very comfortable bed at night completed my experience. The regionally inspired gourmet cuisine added to my pampering at this flying resort and the attractive multi-national crew in their striking uniforms was attentive and pleasant.
When I felt like socializing, I headed to the elegant, intimate cocktail lounge where I chatted with other passengers while sipping a glass of fine scotch. The diverse group made for interesting conversations and time passed quickly.
This mega-plane features very private and commodious First Class Suites with luxurious seating which converts into 6’7” beds assuring a restful night of sleep. Superb meals are served on demand and a beautifully appointed full bathroom with shower featuring Bulgari amenities awaits first class passengers.
Emirates now serves 10 destinations in the United States and offers single carrier connections to more than 50 global destinations not currently served by any US airline. For those passengers traveling with children, the airline thoughtfully provides specially prepared children’s meals, a selection of toys and dedicated children’s channels on board to keep the younger set entertained during the entire flight.
Kudos to Emirates for providing a memorable and relaxing international travel experience.
