Old Town Temecula was born with the arrival of the California Southern Railroad and the feeling of bygone days remains with history and charm.  It’s a historic town with ongoing year ‘round festivals and festivities.  Through

the first Friday in September, Friday Evening Hot Summer Nights is the place to be for the whole family when the music is hot but the temperature is cool.  Free entertainment abounds from 6-10pm with talented musicians playing on patios, in parking lots and special stages throughout the town.  In this festive atmosphere, visitors wander from Blues, Tribute Bands, Reggae, Cajun/Zydeco, Ska, Beach, Big Bands, Alternative Rock and Country concerts playing simultaneously all over the town.  Revelers dine, sip wine while enjoying the entertainment, get up and dance or stroll from one venue to another.  Balloon artist Dynamite Dave is always on hand to amuse the kids.  It’s one big street party!
For the past several years Temecula has put itself on the map as award winning Southern California Wine country, situated just 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles.  Three wine bars in Old Town in particular are excellent choices for sampling the local fruit of the vine, Lorimar Winery & Vineyards, Tesoro Winery and Vineyards and Villa di Calabro Wine & Olive Oil Co. Relax in these comfortable and attractive tasting rooms and enjoy a sampling of the regions fine offerings.
All year ‘round, wine lovers have the opportunity to taste and tour Wine Country’ nearly 40 wineries.  Tour buses are available and are a good idea lest one drink and drive.  Monte De Oro features a tasting room with a stunning glass floor where visitors may look down into the room where the barrels of wine are kept.  Below, is a great place for a formal wine dinner or fabulous party.  Newly opened Europa Village offers specially designed crystal wine goblets enabling better enjoyment of the wine’s aroma and taste.  A charming B&B on the property is scheduled to open this fall. Callaway boasts not only fine wines but fine dining at Meritage. These are but a few of Temecula’s wineries from the most modest facilities to the grandest where an abundance of fine tastings awaits visitors.
Temecula’s year ‘round offerings also feature several other festivals, hot air ballooning, golf, the largest casino in the west, spas and a first rate theatre and bistro for evenings of fine and diverse entertainment.  There is something for everyone.
