Six exceptionally multi- talented performers, both singers and musicians, brought the house down with their renditions of the songs of stars of Rock and Roll as well as some of their own compositions. The energy flowing between the stage and the audience was palpable as the musicians encouraged participation with singing along and hand clapping creating a joyful atmosphere. The message of “Why can’t we all just get along” was clear and welcomed by the audience. Everyone left the auditorium with smiles on their faces from this uplifting entertainment.
The music of this show speaks to all generations with songs that all ages recognize and appreciate. This concert brings back memories of well loved music and performers featuring songs of protest and passion — moving us beyond the moment when Dylan picked up the electric guitar at Newport in 1965 and into the early ’80s featuring songs by Joni Mitchell, Peter, Paul and Mary, Judy Collins, James Taylor, The Eagles, Crosby Stills and Nash, and Simon and Garfunkel. The show also includes original songs by the cast and Noel Paul Stookey. For all aficionados of rock and roll music, this is a do not miss show now playing at the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura through Sept. 16 and featured at the Laguna Playhouse September 19-23.
This celebration of Folk-Rock music then and now picks up where Lonesome Traveler left off. The show is directed by Ovation-winner James O’Neil and written by O’Neil, Lifetime Grammy Award winner George Grove and Tony nominee Dan Wheetman.
