Final Interview, now playing at the intimate Pico Playhouse, is by far the best drama I have seen in a very long time. Featuring two main characters, a big shot head of a large company and an interviewee, an apparently bumbling, insecure guy who is not making a very good impression. But the tables turn as past events come to life and revenge is the goal. This is a thriller and both actors are superb.
Playwright Gabriel Oliva not only wrote the Final Interview but also stars in it as the interviewee. His huge array of talents include not only play-writing and acting but as a singer he has preformed in venues all over Southern California and has acted in and won several
Festival Awards.
Brian Stanton, another accomplished actor who has worked with the playwright on several occasions, has traveled extensively performing his original solo play, Blank, telling the true story of his adoption and search for identity.
Alexis Capozzi adds a bit of femininity to the show as the secretary. She performed in the Boston Conservatory and Merrimack Repertory Theater for over a decade.
Playing at this location July 14, 16, 21 & 23.
