The Los Angeles premiere of Honkey Tonk Laundry at the Hudson Mainstage Theatre makes for an evening bursting with the talent of its two stars, Bets Malone and Misty Cotton. Displaying the kind of friendship like Thelma and Louise, these two women get back at the men who done them wrong supporting one another while putting their crooning skills to good use.
At the Wishy Washy Washateria, Lana Mae Hopkins, owner and proprietress, hires broken hearted and out for revenge Katie Lane Murphy. Through difficult times, these two country angels end up as great friends while exacting revenge against the men that done ’em wrong. Filled with comedy, music and good clean fun, the two belt out songs we all know from by gone days including These Boots Were Made For Walkin’, Stand By Your Man, Before He Cheats, Independence Day and many more.
Even unwitting male members of the audience get involved as the two evolve from broken hearted to standing on their own two feet belting out good old tunes.
Playing through September 17.
