New Hospital Tested Offerings from La Roche-Posay

By Valerie Summers

Although I have been a fan of La Roche-Posay skin products, I was recently surprised to learn the background of the company and about several promising products recently introduced.  I learned La Roche-Posay products are named after the healing thermal spring waters which flow in the tiny French town of La Roche-Posay, famous for its hospital which specializes in skin disorders.  Discovered centuries ago, the waters have been recognized by the scientific community for its skin care properties providing a rare and powerful natural antioxidant.  The skin care line includes the La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water as a key ingredient in their skin care formulas. The Selenium-rich water has been used to heal and protect skin since 1905 because of its antioxidant and soothing properties.

One of the recently introduced products, a new generation of daily moisturizers, Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer, replenishes long lasting moisture up to 48 hours and helps restore the skin’s natural protective barrier.

One of my longtime favorite protective products, Anthelios SX, daily moisturizer cream with sunscreen is part of my daily routine.  To further protect again sun damage, the company recently began offering a heart shaped UV Patch, the first ever stretchable skin sensor which monitors UV radiation in real-time to further increase awareness about personal sun exposure.   The water and sweat-resistant patch can be used up to three days during all outdoor activities including water sports.  It provides a real eye opener about sun damage.

Proper cleansing remains a vital part of healthy skin and the company has brought its traditional Micellar Water to a new level – Micellar Water Ultra and Micellar Foaming Water, new and improved formulas designed to better deep clean the skin and rid it of impurities leaving the skin perfectly cleansed.  The Ultra collection now includes Effaclar Micellar Water, including zinc which acts to purify and hydrate oily skin.

Lest we forget the children…La Roche-Posay is now offering Anthelios Dermo-Kids because children are at a higher risk for UV-induced sun damage and skin cancer.  This gentle sun screen provides powerful UVA/UVB filters which offer broad spectrum, 80-minute water resistant protection. The packaging is quite appealing to the little ones.

The company features a complete line of products to help make skin healthier and more beautiful and may be purchased online at www.amazon.com and www.laroche-posay.us .
