at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. For an evening of laugh out loud good clean comedy, My Son the Waiter, A Jewish Tragedy can’t be beaten.  With the only staging, a simple table covered with a cloth and a rose in a vase, Zimmerman in his best casual duds, tells the true story of his passion to be an actor and the struggles he encountered with no support from his family who really only wanted what was best for him in their eyes. While waiting tables for nearly 30 years in order to pursue his dream, he was cast in several well known TV shows. As luck with have it, pretty late in the game  he discovered he also has a real talent for comedy as well as acting.  Since 2003, he has been the opening act for a number of great comedians including Joan Rivers and George Carlin.  And what this show is all about is a talented never say die kind of guy who climbed the very difficult entertainment ladder and ended up with a hit show that is at the same time both hysterically funny and touchingly poignant.

Now showing thorough September 21 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks.   Phone 805/449-2787
